I love to start the year off with a fun team challenge. It gets the students excited about learning. Cooperation and collaboration are a big part of my class. We have to set the tone for what that looks like from day one. What better way to do that than with a fun activity using CANDY!!! One of my favorites is Can You Save Jack?. It involves gummy worms, gummy lifesavers, a "boat", and some "tools".
Students must work together in a group to solve Jack's problem.
This is one of those activities where it is really hard for just a couple of students to do all the work. They truly have to work together to accomplish their task.
