I have been scouring the internet for the past few days trying to find a good lesson on volume. I wanted my students to "discover" the formula on their own. I looked at many sites, but didn't find anything that I really liked. So...... I decided to create my own.
Didn't really have time for that, but oh well. I also wanted something that wouldn't take a huge amount of time. Here is a picture of my students discovering volume. They really had a great time! Most importantly it was hands on, but didn't require a lot of class time or materials. I used 1 cm cubes for mine. You could use sugar cubes too! Here is a link to this fantastic freebie!!!!!!
